Bouncing Back

Healing doesn’t always look like lying in bed—it can look like a 61-year-old woman bouncing alone on her porch. After my cancer diagnosis, I realized that movement, even something as simple as rebounding, is a gift. Light jumping helps stimulate the lymphatic system, improve balance, and gently support the body’s natural detox process. And sometimes, it’s just fun.

I also drink a glass of water first thing every morning. Hydration keeps everything flowing—especially your lymphatic system, which relies on water to clear out waste and support immunity.

Your mornings set the tone for everything.  That’s true for anyone— patient, a survivor, or just a person trying to show up for life. You don’t have to dress fancy.  Sometimes, I’m in sandals.  But starting the day with intention—even five minutes of bouncing and breathing—reminds me that I’m still here, still healing, and still rising.
